Concorde bomber

Concorde bomber

A BAC Concorbe B.3 overflies its base in the 1980s.

For the past four years I have been heavily involved in a project called The Empire’s Twilight which is an alternate history project started by a mate of mine named Tim Morley. Tim was looking for a backstory to his many “What if” models and together along with a few others we hammered out an entire alternate history where the British Empire survived World War II under the guise of the New Commonwealth and was essentially a third party in the Cold War. This ultimately leads to a nuclear war in 1991.

This was one of my first pieces where I merged a model with a background. To create this image I took one of Tim’s Concorde bomber models and blended in to an image of an airfield viewed from an aircraft passing overhead. I then played with the tones to give the impression of depth.

If you would like to know more about The Empire’s Twilight you can check out the Facebook page or read the Wikia.

  1. Excellent photo, I have a project waiting. A Concorde recon/spy plane version. I plan to call it the BAC R1 Shadow
